McGill continuing dental education
who we are

The Continuing Dental Education Program (hereafter “CDE Program”) in the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences at McGill University is designated a university-accredited provider of continuing dental education events and is also recognized by the American Dental Association’s Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA-CERP). It is further recognized as a preferred partner by the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (ODQ). Our CDE Program holds itself to high standards to ensure that the CDE events it offers have a strong educational impact and that our educational objectives and content development are evidence-based. The selection of educational methods and instructors are conducted independent of commercial interest. Our program activities seek to promote improvements in oral healthcare and strive to be free of commercial bias.

  • Head, cheeks and a torso to teach spatial awareness

  • The same air turbines, electric hand pieces and controls as the ones found in the undergraduate clinic

  • LED operator lights with optional yellow filters to prevent inadvertent curing while placing composites

  • Water and suction

4 cameras:

  • Instructor camera

  • Document camera

  • Simulator camera

  • Microscope camera

2 suctions systems

  • One used during simulated patient exercises

  • One with a charcoal filter, used during lab procedures to reduce dust and the spread of volatile compounds
